This stand-alone television documentary, produced by the public affairs division of CBS, examined the nation's energy resources and needs, focusing on two main issues-- raw materials and energy potential. Film supported the discussion of iron, coal, lumber, water, etc, along with interviews of members of the President's Materials Policy Commission, scientists, and other industry experts. The program proved to be so prescient in predicting a national energy crisis that it was repeated by CBS in 1974.
